We built an assessment inspired by how Resident Advisors match roommates in dorms: sleep schedules, cleanliness, noise tolerance, social vs. quiet time, and lifestyle preferences. You answer a short, honest questionnaire — we use that data to surface roommates and listings that actually fit how you live, so you spend less time filtering and more time finding the right match.
Budget still matters, but it's one factor among many. Matezer prioritizes compatibility so your home stays comfortable and conflict-free.

Fake listings and no-show hosts are a huge problem in NYC housing. We don't rely on algorithms alone. Each listing is reviewed: we check that the poster is real, that the space exists, and that key details (photos, address, availability) are consistent. Listers can be asked for proof of address or a short video walkthrough. That extra step keeps bad actors off the platform and gives you confidence that when you message someone, you're talking to a real person with a real room.
